Take a breath cos it’s gonna be a wild ride!
Wow what a year!! I could never have anticipated or prepared for all that has occurred and taken place this year. The year started with Sunset Riot spending 22 hours filming our 3rd film clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkELiLhiaiM) and preparing for our 3rd USA tour. We also played our 3rd consecutive year at QLD’s Easterfest, this time on one of the main stages! A second straight year playing Rocklahoma was a definite highlight as was completing what ended up being our most intense and grueling tour with over 20 states traversed and 30+ shows in barely 2 months.
Unfortunately this year was also a hard one as it also saw the eventual breakup of Sunset Riot and our final tour in August-October. This was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever been a part of and one that I often still think of. Our final show at Revolver in Prahan was a show I will never forget and one that was very emotional to me. It still constantly amazes me how much support we had thru our journey, across the world!
All things must end however and I decided very quickly that I wasn’t going to sit around contemplating what was, what might have been and what wasn’t anymore. I am looking forward to the next chapter in my musical journey.
With the aid of my good mate Voya (Rattlesnake) I wrote my debut single “Dead Will Rise” and after enlisting the help of recording genius Peter Dacy (Taxiride, the Androids), guitarist Dean Williams (Lupe Fiasco, Velveteen Sky, the Scarlets, Peta Evans-Taylor Band) and drummer Alejandro Adams (Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene) I was able to record and release within 2 months of Sunset Riot‘s final show!! With 2014 looming on the horizon I am incredibly humbled and amazed by the brightness I see upon the skyline ahead…my second single “Change” will be released within the next couple of weeks with a 3rd following mid February. I have been added as a sponsored artist by Rock n Roll Gangstar clothing and will be attending NAMM in this capacity in January and have already begun booking shows for my solo acoustic tour as well as the fully electric and even higher energy “Dellacoma” show.
Thanks again for all your support and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible out on the road this year. Please remember that I cannot do any of this without any of you, I am extremely grateful for each and every fan and friend who listens, shares, wears, buys, promotes, talks about and rocks out to and with all that I do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and see you soon!
